Saints Back in the Win Column, Take Down Lamar

LIBERAL, Kan. – Seward County men's soccer took a break from conference play on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Lamar Community College Lopes 4-0 at Redskin Field.

Seward (3-2) scored two goals in both halves and goalkeeper Tito Livio helped the Saints to a shutout, turning away six Lamar (0-8) shots on goal.

The win was the first for Seward since Aug. 30th when they defeated Tabor College 3-0 at home.

Enrico De Lellis got the scoring started for the Saints with a goal in the 18th minute, assisted by Simone Pitale. It was De Lellis' third goal of the season and Pitale's third assist on the year. Zahit Garibay made it 2-0 Saints in the 39th minute off an assist from Pedro Mendonca. Garibay now has two goals this season after scoring Seward's lone goal in a 3-1 loss to No. 4 ranked Cowley.

The second half saw Pitale on the scoring end, notching his second goal of the season to make it 3-0 in the 61st minute off an assist from De Lellis. Sophomore Renan Maestri scored Seward's fourth goal of the game and his first of the season in the 76th minute off a Melvin Soto assist.

The Saints will aim to snag their first conference win of 2025 on Wednesday as they host Dodge City at 8 p.m. from Redskin Field
