No. 11 Dodge City Takes Down Saints

DODGE CITY, Kan. – Seward men's soccer traveled to take on the nationally 11th ranked Dodge City Conquistadors on Sunday at Memorial Stadium and fell 4-2.

Seward (5-9-0, 0-8-0) remains winless in conference play with just two contests remaining. The Saints travel to Garden City on Saturday, Oct. 25th for a 2:30 p.m. match before the resumption of a suspended match at halftime of a 1-1 game with Coffeyville on Monday, Oct. 27th at 1 p.m.

Dodge City (9-3-3, 4-3-2) outshot Seward 21-9 in the game. The Conquistadors used two first half goals to take a 2-0 lead into the break. They made it 3-0 five minutes into the second half before Leonardo Sapelli Barbosa put the Saints on the board with a goal off an assist from Melvin Soto in the 46th minute.

The Conquistadors pushed their lead to 4-2, 76 minutes into the game. Seward scored its second goal with one minute remaining as Mickael Dualibi Haddad converted his second goal of the season off a penalty kick.

Miguel Kwiatkowski spent all 90 minutes in goal for Seward finishing with five saves.

Musashi Tanaka scored twice to lead the way for the Conquistadors.
