Men’s Soccer Wins on the Road at Lamar

LAMAR, Colo. – The Seward County men's soccer team snapped a five game losing streak with a 2-1 win over Lamar Community College on Wednesday afternoon.

Seward (5-8-0) is now 5-1-0 in non-conference games this season and 2-3 in road matches.

The Saints used a goal in each half to get the job done. Simone Pitale netted his team-high sixth goal of the season in the first half to put Seward ahead 1-0 in the 23rd minute off an assist from Fernando Moura Filho. Pedro Henrique Duarte Trajano scored his first goal of the season in the second half which proved to be the game-winning goal in the 79th minute off an assist from Melvin Soto.

Tito Livio spent all 90 minutes between the pipes finishing with four saves including three in the second half.

The Saints now look to get their first conference win this season with a 3 p.m. match at No. 11 ranked Dodge City on Sunday at 3 p.m.
