Seward Comes Up Short to No. 4 Cowley

LIBERAL, Kan. – In the second consecutive matchup against a nationally ranked opponent, the Seward men's soccer team came up short, falling 3-1 to No. 4 Cowley.

Seward, (2-2-0, 0-2-0 KJCCC) played the game down a handful of starters due to suspension but still put up a fight against the top-five Tigers (3-0-0, 1-0-0).

Cowley outshot Seward 22-4 in the game. The Saints made the most of their offensive opportunities with freshman Zahit Garibay, a Dodge City native, scoring his first career goal in the final seconds of the first half to cut into the Tiger lead making it 2-1.

Cowley scored twice in the first half, in the 27th and 41st minutes. They added the third goal four minute into the second half with the Saints defense playing strong down the stretch.

Goalkeeper Miguel Kwiatkowski spent all 90 minutes in goal finishing with eight saves including turning a penalty kick away.

The Saints will look to notch a win in conference play for the first time in 2025 on Wednesday when they host Coffeyville on Wednesday at 8 p.m. from Redskin Field.
