LIBERAL, Kan. – Sophomore forward Enrico De Lellis scored twice within the games first 15 minutes to help the Seward County men's soccer team defeat Tabor College JV 3-0 on Saturday evening at Redskin Field.
Seward (2-0) begins a season 2-0 for the first time in the three-year history of the program. The Saints have yet to allow a goal this season.
A pair of freshmen goalkeepers in Tito Livio and Nicolas Fonseca each spent a half in goal with Livio recording one save in the first save and Fonseca turning away three shots on goal in the second half.
De Lellis scored off an assist from Pedro Henrique Duarte Trajano in the seventh minute to make it 1-0 and he made it 2-0 in the 14th minute with Simone Pitale earning the assist.
Sophomore forward Pedro Mendonca scored off an assist from Suain Moncayo in the 62nd minute to give the Saints a 3-0 lead.
Seward outshot Tabor 12-5 in the game, impressing in possession throughout.
The Saints will now enjoy a lengthy break before their conference opener on Wednesday, Sept. 10th, at 8 p.m. when Barton travels to Redskin Field.
