Scales Tabs Zinn as Assistant Coach
LIBERAL, Kan. — Seward County Community College women's basketball head coach Antwain Scales has announced the hiring of Brad Zinn as the Lady Saints assistant coach.
Zinn, a veteran assistant with deep Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference experience, comes to Liberal after spending the past five seasons on staff at Garden City Community College.
He joined Garden City in 2021 while Scales was the Broncbusters' head coach and remained with the program after Scales departed, serving under head coach Greg Franklin, who left Garden City earlier this spring.
A native of Racine, Wisconsin, Zinn spent the 2020-21 season as an assistant coach at Salem University, an NCAA Division II program in West Virginia.
Before his time at Salem, Zinn spent three seasons on staff at Highland Community College, a KJCCC Division II member. During his time with the Scotties, Highland compiled an 80-10 record, made two NJCAA Region 6 championship appearances and finished third at the NJCAA Tournament.
During his time at the NJCAA level, Zinn has helped coach five NJCAA All-Americans, nine NJCAA Academic All-Americans, two NJCAA All-Tournament selections and two NJCAA WBCA All-Star participants. He also has coached a KJCCC Player of the Year, two KJCCC Freshmen of the Year and two KJCCC Defensive Players of the Year.
Zinn's coaching career has included stops at the AAU, high school, NJCAA, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division I levels.
