In what has been a special season for sophomore guard Avery Marchino, the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference announced Tuesday that she has won her fourth Division 1 Player of the Week honor.
Marchino, who leads the league in scoring, paced Seward County in a 1-1 week with a loss at Barton and a home win over Cowley. For the week, Marchino averaged 27.5 points per game, 8.5 rebounds per game, and 4.0 assists per game. The sophomore opened the week with a game-high 25 points and seven rebounds in a road loss at Barton before putting together a near triple-double performance three days later by scoring 30 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and dishing out eight assists in a 104-55 home win over Cowley.
