LIBERAL, Kan. – After a scoreless first half at Redskin Field on Wednesday night, the second half saw a combined five goals as the Seward men's soccer team ultimately lost 3-2 to the 12th ranked Dodge City Conquistadors.
Seward (3-3-0, 0-3-0 KJCCC) fell behind 1-0 three minutes into the second half when Dodge City (6-0-2, 3-0-1) netted the game's first goal.
The Conquistador goal ignited the Saints offense as Seward ripped off two goals in two minutes with Pedro Mendonca scoring to tie the game and Mickael Dualibi Haddad converting off a Chad Haynes assist to put the Saints ahead 2-1.
Dodge City snuck out with the win scoring twice, once in the 76th minute and once in the 80th minute.
There were six total yellow cards in the game with Seward totaling four. Dodge City outshot Sewar 20-11 in the game and doubled the Saints up in corner kicks, eight to four. Dualibi Haddad led Seward with four shots.
The Saints step out of conference action on Friday, traveling to Trinidad State for a 4 p.m. matchup.
