Mestres Earns Eighth Career KJCCC Weekly Honor
Liberal, Kansas – Continuing to add to his already impressive resume, the Jayhawk Conference has once again announced Bruno Mestres as the KJCCC Goalkeeper of the Week, his 6th honor of the 2024 season and the 8th of his career.
This accolade was no easy task for Mestres as Seward County took on #4 Cowley to take care of unfinished business after tying with the Tigers earlier in the season. Mestres helped propel the Saints spirits with an .875 save percentage thanks to 7 saves with only one goal allowed before having to come off in the last 10 minutes due to injury with Seward County ahead 2-1 over their conference opponent. His tremendous reoccurring efforts helped the Saints secure a 2-2 draw against the Tigers. Mestres is now tied for 2nd in the NJCAA for saves (79) and ranks 6th in save percentage (.888).
The Saints will remain home for their next matchup as they return to action tomorrow on October 9th to host Garden City on Redskin Field with kickoff scheduled for 8:00 PM.
