Ambrozio’s Hat Trick Earns Him KJCCC Player of the Week Honors
Liberal, Kansas – Matheus Ambrozio made history for the Saints over the past week as he helped lead Seward County to a perfect 2-0 week with the first ever hat trick of three goals in a single game to earn him his first KJCCC Player of the Week honors of his career.
Ambrozio put his foot on the gas all week long with a total of 16 shots on the week including 9 that landed on goal between the Saints' matchup with Tabor JV and Coffeyville where the sophomore midfielder connected on three goals this past Saturday. His first goal of the night came in the first ten minutes off a penalty kick and later followed it up with a pair of rocket shots that landed in the back of the goal for a 4-1 win over the Red Ravens in KJCCC action.
This is the first Player of the Week honor ever awarded to a player from the Seward County men's soccer program and the first of Ambrozio's career. The Saints will be back in action on Wednesday when they head to Great Bend to face the Barton Cougars in an early matchup with kickoff scheduled for 1:00 PM.
