Bio

The 2026-27 season will mark Eric Volden's fourth as head coach for Seward Esports. Volden was named the inaugural head coach ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Eric has previously served at SCCC as an Admissions Recruiter, then Director of Admissions prior to joining Athletics.  Before coming to SCCC, Eric worked as the Production Manager at Seward County Broadcasting (KSCB, KLDG, 1270).  During that time, he was invited to Hi-Rez studios to participate in an esports casting competition.  After competing, Eric spent much of his time as a semi-professional esports caster and analyst, while continuing to produce radio and commercial broadcasts for the area.

Born in Elkhart, KS, Eric has spent his entire life in the SWKS, and OK and TX Panhandle areas. Eric is a graduate of Seward County Community College where he obtained his Associate’s degree.  He then went on to receive a Bachelors in Sociology from Fort Hays State University.

Volden resides in Liberal, Kansas with his wife, two sons, adopted daughter, and three cats.
